Bobby
Parikh is the Managing Partner- Indian Operations
of Arthur Andersen & Co. He joined Arthur
Andersen in 1984, made partner in 1995 and assumed
his present responsibilities in late 1998.
Bobby specializes in the financial services industry
and is responsinble for the financial markets
practice within the overall advisory practice
in India. He has extensive experience in advising
and assisting international financial services
companies in doing business in India and in establishing
an Indian presence.
Bobby has lead teams in:
- Formulating entry strategies and business
plans.
- Partner searches.
- Due diligence reviews and valuation of
reviews.
- Feasibility studies.
For financial markets clients
operating in the investment banking, fund management,
securities broking, leasing and the insurance
sectors.
Bobby advises a number of banks
operating in India and has worked actively with
several International banks in assisting them
in establishing an Indian banking presence. He
has worked with leading US, UK and South East
Asian investment banks in formulating their entry
strategy into India and in implementing an Indian
operating presence.
Bobby has participated in and
addressed several seminars, both external and
inhouse in India and overseas, on current developments
in the Indian financial markets, government policies
on trade and investment, and on various tax technical
issues. |

| LALIT
PANDIT (MUSIC & DANCE EXCELLENCE) |

Lalit
Pandit, along with the elder brother Jatin are
one of the biggest names in the Indian Film Industry.
Lalit passed out from N.M. College in 1989. The
duo, ‘Jatin-Lalit’ have given various
memorable music to the Hindi Cinema.
Lalit was born in a traditional
musical family. His uncle Pandit Jasraj and father
Pandit Pratap Narayan are veterans in the field
of classical music. He belongs to the Mewati Gharana,
which is one of the finest Gharanas that this
country has.
The pair of ‘Jatin-Lalit’
has scored music and sung in various Hindi films.
Their recent movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhania
Ley Jayenge’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’
have been one of the highest selling music ever
in the history of Hindi cinema. This year they
have been adjudged as the ‘Best
Music Director’ in the Screen Videocon
Awards for their music score in the film ‘Kuch
Kuch Hota Hai’. They are known to be making
and working for the most prestigious movies in
the film Industry. |

Paresh
Rawal is one the most well-known personalities
in the Indian film industry. Paresh Rawal passed
out from N.M. College in 1977. He begun his acting
career in Gujarati Plays. He has acted in various
stage plays and movies. Some of his memorial roles
in movies are:
- ‘Sardar in ‘Sardar
Vallabhai Patel’.
- ‘Velji Bhai’
in ‘Sir’.
- ‘Laxmi Das’ in
‘Krantiveer’.
His performances in ‘
Tamanna’ & ‘
Dandnayak’ has been also widely acclaimed.
Paresh has won ‘Best
Actor’ award for 3 consecutive years
in the Inter-Collegiate. He has received ‘State
Drama Award’ for ‘Best
Actor’ for 2 times. He has received
National Award for
the film ‘Sir’.
He has been nominated on various occasions for
Filmfare, Screen and other Awards. |

Rajesh
Mandavewalla has been the key person in the building
of the ‘Welspun Group’
which boasts of a turnover of over Rs.300 crores.
He is the Executive Director and Co-Promoter of
the Welspun Group. He passed out from N.M. College
in 1982 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant
in 1984.
The well Known companies in the
Welspun Group are:
- Welspun India Ltd., flagship company dealing
in cotton Yarn & Terry Towels.
- Welspun Syntex Ltd. Is manufacturing and
processing special Polyester Filament Yarn.
Welspun Indial is the largest
producer of Terry Towels in the country and also
the largest exporter of Terry Towels from India.
The company has recently been given the ‘Award
of Excellence in Exports’ by Prime Minister,
Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Welspun also has a 50:50 joint
venture with Zucchi, the $350 million Italian
Textile Major, for manufacture of bathrobes. All
the major units in Welspun Group are ISO 9000
certified. |

KHANDWALA (SPECIAL AWARD) |

Mayank
Khandwala is one of the youngest persons, who
has been elected as the member of the Managing
Committee of the esteemed Mumbai Cricket Association.
He was elected in the first attempt with the highest
number of votes. Mayank passed from N.M. College
in 1984.
By profession, Mayank is a Share
& Stock Broker. He is Director of Jayantilal
Khandwala & Sons Pvt. Ltd. Which is one of
the oldest and most reputed Stock Broking Firms
in the country.
Mayank has always had a great
passion for cricket. He has been actively involved
in playing cricket since 1974. He has been playing
for ‘The Cricket
Club Of India’ for the past 12 years
and is the captain pf the team for the last 7
years. He has played cricket alongwith International
Cricketers and also has the honour of captaining
many International Stars of the country under
him. He has also organized tours to various countries
for ‘The Cricket Club of India’.
Mayank is also a Sub- Committee
Member of ‘The Cricket club of India’
for the past 8 years and recently was also inducted
in the Marketing Committee of the Mumbai Cricket
Association. |

D. Desai is a practicing Chartered Accountant.
He is the partner of P.D. Desai & Co. He passed
out from N.M. in 1969. He was a part-time lecturer
in Accountancy with N.M. College for 8 years.
He is among the most active and respected member
of ICAI. He has been the president of Bombay Chartered
Accountants’ Society in the Year 1987-88
and also Chairman of Western Indian Regional Council
of ICAI. He has also served on different committees
of ICAI, BCA and Chamber of I.T. Consultants.
Pinakin has contributed in a
number of Seminars, Conferences and Publications
under the suspices of various professional bodies
such as ICAI, WIRC & BCA. |

| Sonia
Suri is presently studying in T.Y.B.Com. She is
the captain of the Water Polo Team of Maharashtra.
The team has won Silver Medal in the Senior Water
Polo Championship held in Bangalore. She has won
the award of ‘Most
Valued Player’ 3 times in a row.
Sonia has also won the Shiv
Chatrapati Shivaji Award for swimming &
Water Polo. She has won the National Title for
Swimming in 100 & 200 m. brest stroke and
also won 400 metre Individual Medley for 3 years.
In academics, Sonia has achieved 84% in S.S.C.
and 79% in H.S.C. |
